Looks like some are blaming offense on Pete not Chip

https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-decisi ... te-carroll

"When Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll made the decision after last week's debacle of a loss to the Cleveland Browns to fire offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, it did more than shine the spotlight on himself for the rest of the 2025 season and into the offseason.
It also highlighted the lack of cohesion in the coaching offices, while explaining one of the reasons why the Raiders have struggled amid a 2-9 season in Carroll's first year.
By any account, Kelly's 11-game tenure that ended with a brutal home loss to Cleveland was a disaster, as the NFL's highest-paid coordinator ran one of the league's worst offenses.
But based on the views of those who studied the offense and based on those who game-planned against it this season, they don't believe Kelly was running his own offense at all. It was unlike anything Kelly previously had run.
In fact, defensive coordinators likened the Raiders offense this season more to Shane Waldron's offense with the Seahawks in 2023, Carroll's last year with Seattle. Kelly's trademark creative runs out of shotgun had been dramatically limited. Instead, the blend of Seattle and Las Vegas schemes tilted far more toward the under-center zone scheme Carroll favors.
One previous opponent even had their scout team prepare cards based on Seattle plays of the past under Carroll, sources say."" Theres more in the article see Link above

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports “defensive coordinators likened the Raiders offense this season more to Shane Waldron’s offense with the Seahawks in 2023.”

That was, of course, Pete Carroll’s final season in Seattle. Rapoport went even further, saying, “One previous opponent even had their scout team prepare cards based on Seattle plays of the past under Carroll, sources say.” This report comes just a few days after Tom Pelissero, Rapoport’s NFL Network colleague, said that Chip Kelly botched his own play calls during games and even called plays that hadn’t been installed during practice. As tends to happen in disaster seasons, everyone in Vegas is fighting to blame someone else through the media. Assuming Carroll is a one-and-done in Vegas, it’s a sad end to a legendary career. The game had left Carroll behind in his final years with the Seahawks, but he just couldn’t stay away. The Raiders, in turn, will have to blow things up and start from scratch this offseason.

Hopefully Pete continues to force his offense on the interim OC, Id hate to see the interim switch it up and we win a game or two and Fvkc up our high draft pick.... so is the interim greg olsen, i thought i saw it was some unknown assistant at first, then later saw Greg olsens name ?

If this is true, Carrol needs to go. He’s giving Al Davis type vibes, rest his soul, but at 74 you are set in your ways.

They need to hire a head coach and let him bring in his own guys. It's clear Kelly and Carroll was an arrangement and a failed one at that. However Carroll clearly looks like a man that is simply too old to be a head coach in today's NFL. They tried, it failed, move on and take another kick at the can.

It was the biggest flapping red flag of the offseason. It's like when you see a person with face tattoos. You know they're poor decision makers. I gave Pete every single benefit of the doubt outside of that, but him hiring his own son for such an important role was the head coaching version of the face tattoo.

Gruden hired his son, but only as the strength and condition coach; and since Deuce/PC Principle has had the same job with other teams, he must be well thought of, and he was never involved in anything coaching related.

I hate having yet another 1 year disaster, but Pete's gotta go when the season's over.

You can think of it as dating. We’ve had 11 dates and I don’t wanna go on the last 5. No signs of anything positive in the future. We are actually worse now than week 1. Not 1 issue has been resolved or corrected. The team plays hard but looks completely un coached.

Scapegoat... probably. Still needed to go... definitely.

Nah, Hes a shlt Head coach but a great OC. As that article states, the offense that has been run this year is nothing like the Chip Kelly offense. We also know its Pete that has the big problem with JPJ, not Chip, so clearly it is Pete whos making the call that out Best Center gets demoted and pushed out to Guard. Its Pete why we are having running plays from shotgun just like petes last 2 years in Seattle. Pete chose our QB not our GM. Pete controls everything, even our offensive scheme and who gets switched from Center to Guard.

Facts:
- This Raider offense in 2025 is not the normal chip kelly ran/schemed offense
- Petes OC in his last 2 years in Seattle liked to run the Ball from the shotgun
- Its Been clear that Pete is the guy who has the "personality" conflict with JPJ. "PERSONALITY"

The rest is connecting the dots from other coaches/execs from within the league...... not fans

This suggests that most of this comes from evidence and less from wild speculation

Great college OC. NFL??? Couldn't prove it by me. There is so much wrong with this team that I doubt anything can be taken as fact. It's an entire team effort of suck. Having said that, I'm all in on getting rid of PC after the season.

In general I'd be willing to have been more patient with coach Pete if he had benched Geno and demoted his son weeks ago. And ideally play more young players. It's clear he is a stubborn old man at this point and needs to go.

The way this organization does things ass backwards with its hiring processes is it any wonder it been a shitshow for so many years? We haven't had a good/great coaching staff OR front office in forever.

Even Al in his late years was better than this shitshow mark has going on :paperbag:
