The Mount Rushmore + 4 of Raider Misery

Why eight? Because this “franchise” is so comically bad they get four “bonus” games. Or it’s impossible to pick just four, you be the judge.

Every franchise has a few ugly Sundays, for the Raiders it’s a few ugly decades.

Trying to cram forty years of face-palming absolutely bad football into four spots felt impossible, so welcome to the Mount Rushmore + 4, eight games that sum up our endless suffering as fans of this crapstastic franchise. Season after season of misery. Just when you think it can’t get any worse? The Raiders say “hold my beer.”

What kicked this off was another forum post postulating between which two games were worse. I got to thinking, that can’t be done. There are worse games than just two.

So without further delay, the Raiders Mt Rushmore of Misery +4 in no particular order.

1) 1991 @ Bills - 51-3
AFC Championship. The dynasty’s funeral. The Bills were sprinting laps while we looked like we’d wandered into the wrong stadium. This was the moment “Just Win, Baby” officially expired, we just didn’t know it had.

2) 2006 @ Chargers - 21-0
Art Shell II, Andrew Walter, and an offense that should’ve come with a parental advisory. 129 yards total. Thirteen third-downs, thirteen failures. Offensive football died that day. Or better to say it was offensive.

3) 2014 @ Rams - 52-0
Carr’s rookie baptism by napalm. Down 38-0 at halftime, and FOX literally cut away to other games. When TV networks show mercy, you know it’s over. The sad part is I had to look this one up because they have become a blur.

4) 2022 @ Saints - 24-0
Didn’t cross midfield until the final drive. Derek Carr completing passes to ghosts. McDaniels coaching like he left the playbook on the bus. Soul-crushing in its precision.

Stidham comes in and crosses mid-field!!! Celebrate! /sarcasm

5) 2025 @ Chiefs - 31-0
Ninety-five total yards. Three first downs. The modern remake of every collapse before it. Decades later, same plot, same sorry team, same ending. Same eveything.

ETA: apparently since 1950 we are only the second team to run 30 offensive plays or less… let that sink in.

6) 2013 vs Eagles - Nick Foles’ 7 TDs
A backup QB morphs into Joe Montana on our field. Seven touchdowns. SEVEN. We made history, just for someone else. As I recall the crowd was actually cheering for Foles after 5?

7) 2007 @ Vikings - 3-0
Fifteen punts. A field-goal loss that felt like performance art. You could hear the tumbleweeds rolling across the Metrodome turf. Watching paint dry was more exciting.

8) 2020 @ Falcons - 43-6
Coming off a near-win over the Chiefs, all we had to do was act like a professional football team.

Nope.

Instead: five turnovers, eleven flags, and a meltdown that killed the playoff dream before December. By that’s par for the course with the Raiders.
The modern-era encapsulation of “just when you think…”

Every few years the jerseys change, the zip code changes, the coach swears “this time it’s different.” And every time, it isn’t. The Raiders don’t rebuild; they simply replay the same bad movie as they have for decades with a new roster and coaches, but somehow, someway the results are always the same.

It’s beyond pathetic at this point.

Raidiculous (adj.) - something so profoundly self-destructive that it transcends normal failure; a uniquely Raider brand of chaos where improbable situations become routine.

Usage: “The Raiders once had a 3rd and 48… and the “QB” threw a pass four yards. Into the back of the receiver. That’s Raidiculous.”
I will contact the people at Webster's because this needs to happen.

The Rams loss where Baker Mayfield walked off the bus and learned the playbook in two minutes and beat them has to be on that OP list, imo.

I work a really really hard job that doesn't pay enough. I have an abusive wife who pretty much hates me and calls me names. I lost my band and all my friends. My daughter is 6 and nonverbal. So yeah the raiders being bad is just the icing on top of the cake which is my life. :clown: :poop:
1. Consume less and you will not be a glutton. And that can apply to food if you are fat or sport if sport makes you miserable.
2. Fan since 2009? Dafuk is that? Quit this team and bandwagon a good organization. It is not too late for you
3. Get an easier job that pays more. They are out there if you look hard enough
4. Don't take shit from your wife. Remind her why you guys got married in the first place. If that does not work to fix her attitude, have some pride and get out. Life is too short for that shit
5. Start a new band. I would think a tribute band to the Band would be cool. Or a polka band if you are not cool. Take your pick.
6. Find friends. Unless you are an utter prick, it is not that hard. Pick up bowling. Some of the most laid back people bowl. (I am an utter prick so this one will not work for me even if I bowl. But I came up with a solution and will befriend other utter pricks, so win/win for me)
7. Daughter is a rough one. I know this sometimes corrects and sometimes does not. But I will just say that if it does, you won that one, and if it does not she will still be able to communicate and dad will still love her. I have hope on this one.
8. Cake is good, and icing is often the best part, eat cake
9. Your life apparently, is in its earlier stages, you can make many changes to improve it, first one is ditch this team, I have been in various levels of hell for 39 years because of the Davis's (not really hell but you get the idea) and there is no hope in the future either.

Best I can do, sir.
