Well, they include congress calling for a concussion discussion but yea, they kind of breeze over the general discussion over concussions

Yeah I'm going with the general consensus. Despite the writer being with Yahoo Sports since 2012 it reads like someone with a just a passing interest in the NFL.

The improvements in player safety should be commended, especially with the emphasis on tackling fundementals and the reduction of helmet to helmet collisions. In my opinion that is the one positive of today's NFL. That said, let's see more money get redirected back to the players that made the NFL America's Pastime and whose mental and physical health have been deteriorating to the point where they have little quality of life in retirement.

The NFL has done better in that regard but they can do more as can the NFLPA.

Ron Jaworski co-authored a book titled "Games that Changed the Game." Its time frame covers 1960's through the early 2000's but a similar framework applied to the last twenty five years would be a great discussion topic.

Social Media has had a huge impact on sports. There is so much more information. Fans complaining about players and coaches. Interaction from players with fans. There has been a heighten dislike between fan bases.

Same here.

I get all the games and pretty much everything out there tv and movie wise one could want at pennies on the dollar. I don't believe I will ever see a game at Las Vegas or any other stadium for that matter for the amount of money and/or game day experience. And you know that is alright with me...

No mention of replay. We go to another Superbowl in 1977 if they had replay on the Denver fumble.

Replay has been the most significant change in my humble opinion.

replay was not adopted in the last 25 years. His article only covers since the turn or the century.

I get all that, but maybe I am seeing this differently. I think the direction the guy is going is things that changed our views of the game and not the changes to the game. It is why he talks about Brady the effect and not Brady the player. He could easily have mentioned the death of Al which had a big ripple effect through the league but his death, for most people, really did not have a lasting change to how we view the league.

I guess you could have included the move to Vegas which was taboo for the longest time due to the threat of gambling. And that move opened up the town to other sports which had avoided being in Vegas for the same reason.

Yeah I'm just thinking of things that had the biggest impact on the game as a whole inside/outside whatever.

NFL in Vegas could have been there to, yep. From the gambling angle to away team fans using it as a vacation spot making it one of the most profitable locations with box office.
