Hell you could be right, we all hope you aren't but no one of us knows till the shit gets real. All we can put our hope on is Pete's history of success and what looks like a grownup FO finally.
I hope so really but 45 years of drinking the Kool-aid only to be disappointed has left me saying why would this year be different.
It seems the 2 wins didn't cost us in the end this year, I feel it fair to review that as it was a big deal back then.

My negative is we didn't build the lines with top talent, the game still starts there. We hit both fronts, but it was well into the draft. Are these players really going to push around the NFL's top talent? If we hit on one of the 3 we did well here.
Agree. I'm a big Trenches guy. It depends on what/who you thought 'top talent' was/is. I like the picks on OL. Can they make the team and contribute?...... we'll see. At the very least, they are good depth players. I like what this 'team' did in the draft.
Huh? We would have had Clevelands spot. We could have made that trade, still taken Jeanty, got a second 2nd rounder (maybe take Will Johnson) and a 1st for next year (which could be another top 10 pick).
As they say............. hind sight is 20/20. I thought we did great with the draft, given the circumstances .

thank you. I hate being negative but it's how I'm wired.
I'm right there with you. The only reason I am cautiously optimistic at this time is because of Pete Carroll and his history of success and the coaches he's brought in and kept and our FO finally looks like they know what they are doing. But as with everything Raiders we shall see.

Carroll has won everywhere he has gone and I just don't see Kelly coming over here if Carroll wasn't here and someone like Pierce was.

If we could have then yes those two wins cost us. But back then it was all about lose for a QB, that wasn't my whole focus but the main one.

Just imagine adding Will Johnson to everyone we already selected and having 2 1sts in next year's draft- both possibly top 10 picks-- that we can stack to get our qb. Winning those 2 games was assinine.

Or maybe we end up with pick #1, take Cam Ward and he ends up sucking.

Also we beat the Jaguars so if they had won theyd be picking lower and we quite likely wouldnt havs gotten Jeanty and they may not have even moved up then.

Or maybe that extra win changes their coaching and gm search and they end up with someone who doesnt want Hunter so much.

These hypotheticals are ridiculous.

Losing is never a good thing
The whole idea of tanking is so ridiculous and overplayed. The idea that coaches and many players fighting for their careers would lose on purpose so the team that will certainly fire them gets a better draft position is silly. How do they benefit?

I don’t like the idea of tanking even for a Qb. There are many ways to approach getting one without the thought of losing on purpose.
