The Offensive Line Coach Thread
As we just saw with the departure of Brennan Caroll under the latest Raiders regime- Offensive Line coach is critical. So much so, I’d argue after the OC (or in our case HC/OC combo) it’s the most crucial position coach on the offensive staff. (Maybe QB Coach too)
We can’t get Bill Callahan and Dante Scarneccia (formerly of NE) is retired. Who else is out there? Quick aside- Dante pieced together offensive lines in NE with spit, glue, rubber bands and duct tape and they won Super Bowls.
I’m also off the mindset this hire might matter even more than DC. We’ve got a lot of pieces for the offensive line that I believe were simply used or not instructed on why they wanted them to do last year.
We’re not talking best line ever in the history of the game, but I think we can take a huge step forward from what we saw last year with the right coach.

He has but were not looking for anything more than a few years. He's pretty damn versatile but I get your point of switching. The reason I bring him up is because the FA market for RT is not that inspiring.Hellbound wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 7:12 pm Better have some good quality backups for the right side of the line as neither one can stay healthy. Decker hasn't played rt since beginning days of college. He's been a lt since his Jr year so him switching might not be easy. He's also contemplated retirement the past couple of years and came close to doing so last year

And the FA market for interior line is not looking so hot either. Starting to worry we might not get a front line center in FA.Willmark wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 8:23 pm He has but were not looking for anything more than a few years. Get Decker as a catch-all and keep Glaze at RT with a proper O-Line coachWillmark wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 8:23 pm He has but were not looking for anything more than a few years. Problem solved for Center.
LT- Miller we need to address longer term but that might be a 2027 need.
LG- Rogers
C- Linderbaum, back up the truck for him and pay him (narrator’s voice: “they did in fact back the truck up for him.”
RG- JPJ
RT- not sure. As I mentioned maybe Decker as a switch for his last few years at RT?

Ok now that we have a bit more clarity here after Linderbaum?Willmark wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 11:10 am Problem solved for Center.

While it might be a bit early but after the heavy run on OTs in round 1? Pick 3.3 (#67 overall) is right around where we might get Glennings Dunker: https://www.espn.com/college-football/p ... ngs-dunker
Not saying we will do it but some food for thought. Play him at RT which was his position at Iowa. Imagine the right side of the OL if they could live up to the potential?

RT is def the biggest need but Pregnon and Bisontis are the far better available players on the O line, even though they are guards. Either of those 2 are better than any LG we currently have on the roster and are Day 1 starters.Willmark wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 8:48 pm Ok now that we have a bit more clarity here after Linderbaum?

The reason I pointed out Dunker is someone who might be around a late 3rd early 4th.
We’ve got several ways we can go around those picks and we be curious to see how we tackle it (no pun intended).

Shit, my bad dude, I completely missed your 3rd round comment. If Dunker is there at 3.3 he is absolutely the pick.Willmark wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 3:17 am The reason I pointed out Dunker is someone who might be around a late 3rd early 4th.

It’s a really weird spot. I think we’d have to slide up a bit to nab him as I’m not sure he’s sitting there at the top of the 4th.
He’s projected right around 79-84. Now personally i wouldn’t bat an eye: right side of the line consisting of a meathead and character isn’t bad imo.

I mean if you walk out of Day 2 with MacDonald or Hunter & Dunker then that is a win
It should be all about the trenches

Ooof, just checked.
ESPN has him at the best available tackle and 51 overall. Our 3rd would be a stretch as he’s likely be gone by then.
The run on OTs in the first is a big factor.
