Do we need an OC/DC thread or do we just keep that talk in the Pete Carrol thread?

As with GMs and HCs. Coordinators falls under the Rooney rule. So we have to do 2 interviews for each side to fulfill that before hiring.

Its wild to me even if you want to make a minority hire you have to interview another candidate still.

For a while there we were the ones leading that charge.

He's the current "play-drawer" under McVay.[/quote]Similarly, I'd love to see us interview Tanner Engstrand and Mark Brunell, the Passing Game Coordinator and QB coach, respectively, of the Lions.

We didn't get Ben Johnson, but maybe we can get one of people that helped with that great offense.

I'll keep an open mind with Pete's staff hires. He said in his presser he wants guys he's familiar with, as well as guys he's never coached with before. I believe Pete is heavily invested in developing his coaching tree, and not just his players. It's a part of what makes him so good. If he sees something in someone I've never heard of, I'll assume he knows what he's talking about.

Even though he failed horrendously bad as a GM. I thought Matt Millen stated the most accurate thing ever when it came to the Rooney Rule. He felt it was more disrespectful to bring in say Dennis Green in for an interview for a job that he has no intention of giving him, just to satisfy the rule.

I've also seen some mentions of Greg Olson, but only as a QB coach. He wouldn't be calling plays or anything, but just mentoring the QBs which he does very well (it's why he keeps getting OC jobs despite his offenses being mediocre).
