‘26 Offseason Roster Moves

Raiders Reserve/Future Signings

“The Raiders announced they have sighed Chris Collier RB, McClendon Curtis G, Jamin Davis LB, Phillip Dorsett II WR, Treven Ma'ae DT, Joshua Miles T, Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. TE, Brenden Rice WR, Layden Robinson G, Justin Shorter WR, Laki Tasi OL, and Dalton Wagner T to reserve/futures deals.

The most notable player from that list is offensive lineman Laki Tasi. The Raiders are big on him as he is learning the game of football. Tasi is from the International Player Pathway Program. He is developing and could be a huge factor for the Silver and Black in the future. The other one is linebacker Jamin Davis. Davis is a former first-round pick by the Commanders in 2021.”

So use FA first (starting in March) then have extra draft picks. But please — no more head cases like Arnette, Chandler Jones, and Christian Wilkins.
Agreed. I see some want Pickens but I don't think he's all that. Also, this draft class is deep at WR and assuming Kubiak does get hired he should be able to get the best out of a rookie and let him grow with Fernando. It also doesn't mean if he were to be traded it wouldn't help fortify the OL...

I do like the idea of Shaheed following Kubiak to us. Then grab Cooper in the 2nd-3rd and see if that’ll do for the year.

Also, no Pickens. I like his play, but that’s a headcase WR. You can add one of those when you’re a vet team with a history of winning. Even then I don’t know if Pickens can fly straight. The Steelers thought Metcalf was less of a headache. Hahahha

Agree...I'm tired of players with the "hey, look at me" mentality. The thing we need if we're truly adopting a better "culture", are players who are both "talented AND intelligent".

One of the qualities between the 2 teams in the SB as well as Mendoza's Indiana squad is that they seldom make dumb mistakes/penalties...instead, they capitalize when their opponents make those self destructing dumb mistakes/penalties.

Trading Max (whose value will only go down at this point in his career) not only gives us a ton of draft capital but also gives us the ability to sign more FA's down the road. I love Max, but its a no brainer to trade him if the situation arises. If we are being honest, we will not be competitive for a couple of years (if things work out perfectly). I appreciate his warrior mentality that is unmatched but we need to strike now while the iron is hot.

3 or 4 high picks on rookie contracts plus a couple of big FA's > Max cooking for a few years.

Maxx could've/should've been traded last year when his value was even higher...but considering what has happened in the last month or so, I believe he's now as good as gone.

It seems it would be a bad look to hire a "stud" new Head Coach and his first move is to trade the locker room leader. The only way now I see a trade is if Maxx doesn't fit into the new DC's scheme. And that seems highly unlikely. Crosby is in Las Vegas to stay.

RunOverByHubbard wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 9:03 pm Agree with you, but...the franchise is at an all-time low. I wish we were bringing in the new (possible) franchise QB with a decent O-line but that line was the worst I have ever seen on the Raiders and I have been watching for 56 seasons. To build a good line and get some impact players on defense along with depth, I think we have to be a bit aggressive in terms of getting rid of our best, but aging, players. I would not like to see Mendoza struggle (and get the stuffing beat out of him) like Jim Plunkett did with New England coming out as the Heisman winner from Stanford.
Agree with everything you say from a logic standpoint. I just can't help recalling the Mack trade. I thought it was a great deal for both sides and then we wasted all the draft choices. Past isn't prologue but I'm still leery of letting a good player leave without a reasonable certainty of getting something good in return.

I'm on board with trading Maxx while he get's us the most we can get, but I can't disagree with this either.
