Raiders trade Tyree Wilson to Saints

I know hindsight is 20/20, but the fact they could have had Jalen Cater makes it a tough pill to swallow. Even more so they had to add a 7th rounder to just to get a 5th for the guy. Classic Raiders 1st round shennanigans.

I wanted Christian Gonzalez.

But when I think about the guys we could've had, both in this draft and the countless others where Raider Nation collectively said "huh?", I remind myself that every moment of ineptitude (particularly the recent ones, like Tyree himself) has led us to drafting Fernando.

If we had Jalen or Gonzalez, lord knows we would've picked 6th overall instead of 1st. Tyree, Pete/Chip/Petespawn, the Gruden 1st rounders all added up to a successful tank, as well as other less-prominent, but equally-shitty events (e.g. AB, WIlkins, Ruggs). Change any variable, and who knows?

Clean slate going forward, hopefully we will never endure the multi-year shitstorm that leads to a 1st overall pick ever again

It took an army of people and mistakes to get this first pick. It was not easy to get.
Pete had to ruin his reputation some to make it possible.
It also took finding out Gruden was the problem in Washington, otherwise he'd be here and we wouldn't have been the worst just the most Jeff Fisher-like you could find.
Tons of blown draft choices, on and on to make this moment.
A modern day miracle, but then someone had to be the worst.

For whatever the God given reason Tom Brady was sold a percentage of the team and Mark took a quieter role.

It wasn't McD who won Superbowls. Whatever the play call Brady called it in the huddle and the players believed. And im sure he changed a shit load of them.

correct, Gonzalez was widely considered a first rounder, but a mid to lower first rounder. Tyree just never figured stuff out. Maybe he will at his next stop. Doubt it, but maybe. Carter was mentioned with us a lot in that draft, but his legal issues were likely why we did not. What a horrible draft overall. You know it is bad when guys want us to trade for Hendon Hooker. Thank God it looks like we have competent minds in the building now. Just keep Doofus away from the decisions
