If he makes the team, I hope they allow him to keep his name in kanji on the jersey. We'd sell a metric ton of those babies.

This one is meh for me. Like his overall accuracy from within 45 yards. But after that not much to see and pedestrian in what you can see. Wanted someone with a better leg basically. But if it works out I'll eat crow on it

Remember that we brought in two UDFA kickers in addition to veteran Matt Gay who we signed last month. So Tokyo Toe isn't being given anything. If he ends up our kicker, it'll be because he earned it.vtraider wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 5:28 am This one is meh for me. Like his overall accuracy from within 45 yards. It would be nice with The Raiders offense and defense 50+ yard field goals will be a thing of the past.vtraider wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 5:28 am This one is meh for me. Rumor is his first live NFL game was a Raider game and he fell in love with the game and started watching youtube videos on how to kick.

I want accurate in the 45 yard range. I am less concerned with a guy who can bat .500 over 50 yards. If he makes the team, good for him, if not, oh well.vtraider wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 5:28 am This one is meh for me. Like his overall accuracy from within 45 yards. I am wanting the days when our kicker was not one of the most important guys on the team.

I would respectfully submit that the kicker will always be important. How many games have we all seen over the years that came down to a field goal or critical extra point?Attyla wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 10:02 am I want accurate in the 45 yard range. Oh, I agree, but not to the level raider fans have valued kickers. But give me a guy who I know will make the kicks inside 45 over the big foot that misses chip shots like Jano was known for.Sir Raider Duck, OMS wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 10:43 am I would respectfully submit that the kicker will always be important. Jano kicked for 18 years and missed 17 FGs inside of 40 yards. 3 of those 17 misses were inside 30.Attyla wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 10:51 am Oh, I agree, but not to the level raider fans have valued kickers. I'm happy we signed a UDFA kicker. I'm with Attyla in that I don't need a kicker to be a "weapon", I just want to be money inside of 45 and we can put the pressure on the offense to do the rest. I don't care if it's this guy or Matt Gay, as long as someone actually wins the job - hopefully we don't have two losers and just end up picking the least shitty option.
Rookie kickers often struggle a bit, but if the competition is close then I'd rather give the job to the rookie and let him potentially take his lumps in 2026 so he's more seasoned for the job in 2027.

Hopefully, we finally become a good red zone team and don't need much from the kicker. That being said, I can give a rats ass how far they can kick. Like Chucker said, give me a guy who is automatic from within 40-45 yards.

neat how you changed the parameters. I can do that too, he missed 42 from inside 50 yards.Raider_Dave wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 11:07 am Jano kicked for 18 years and missed 17 FGs inside of 40 yards. 3 of those 17 misses were inside 30.
