Seems solid at the point of attack. Once he gets to gut the guy doesn’t get away

This is one thing many people just don't understand about a nose tackle. Just because you're 330-350 doesn't mean youd be the best at it. So much of it is about leverage and technique. I'm gonna have to watch some nc state gamesislandboy wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 4:07 pm In the video they talk about his weight. Although “only 307” plays like he is 330 and does not move against double teams.
Boy looks to be country strong.

Good kid…
Definite through-line for Raiders FO. Good character, and outstanding RAS when possible, but character is a box that needs checking or they’re out.
They had a Zoom call with this guy. This is the kind of info that makes me like the FO and their draft. It’s obvious they put in the work when you learn stuff like the 229th pick had already had contact with the FO leading up to the draft. No blind dart-throw picks. Instead a multifaceted fluid plan.

For you older fans -- like you mean when Rod Coleman (6'2" and 290 lbs) manned the middle of our defense? Or before that, the great Reggie Kinlaw? Kinlaw was 6' 2" and 250 believe it or not.Goodtimes333 wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 8:53 pm This is one thing many people just don't understand about a nose tackle. Exactly right. Size is not everything.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2026 9:25 pm For you older fans -- like you mean when Rod Coleman (6'2" and 290 lbs) manned the middle of our defense? Or before that, the great Reggie Kinlaw? Kinlaw was 6' 2" and 250 believe it or not.
My buddy who played at UCLA and was drafted by the Steelers told a story about Dermonti Dawson, who played C at 288. My buddy was a rookie when they played GB and NT Gilbert Brown who was close to 100lbs heavier than DD.
DD had my boy watch him against Gilbert. 1st play DD lifts Gilbert off the ground and throws him on the ground. 2nd play Gil stays low attacks and DD uses his momentum and low center push G into the ground.
It was a long day for GB.
