2026 Draft - First Round - Thurs.4/23 - 5/8 pm
99% chance the Raiders start things off with doing what we all want them to do. Less than a 1% chance they trade the pick? Yep. There will be some interesting trades in the first round, including a possibility our new management trades up into the first round using the "extra" picks we have this year. But, I am expecting an evening of observing and anticipating rounds 2 & 3 tomorrow night.
Enjoy one of the best sports events of the year -- the NFL draft.

My preferences for pick 36 in order.
McDonald- perfect DT for the 3-4. Great value too.
Bisontis- our o-line is improved but far from done and he’s got pro bowl potential at G.
McNeil Warren- so much potential at safety.
A lot of chatter about Boston being the pick. I don’t love the idea. He’s a pure possession receiver. If he couldn’t get away from corners in college he sure as hell isn’t going to do it in the pros.

Arguably our biggest needs are on the OL, DT, S and WR.
McNeil-Warren S
McDonald DT
Pergnon OG
Boston WR
Are all still there.
Teams above us...
49ers-needs (ER, OL, WR)
Cardinals (QB, ER, OL)
Bills (ER, OL, LB)
None of these teams above us most pressing needs are at DT with a possible exception of the Bills. So there is a chance McDonald will be there. Even if 3 of the 4 are scooped up we still have our choice of one of them. I don't see us moving up but it wouldn't surprise me if somebody on their board is taken before our pick that they would move down some if possible to acquire more selections.
Other 2nd round selections of need...
Stukes S
Bernard WR
Hunter DT
Bisontis OG
McNeil-Warren S
McDonald DT
Pergnon OG
Boston WR

DT is definitely in play for the Bills, unfortunately. At least from what I heard. They were terrible as a team in rush defense. I think 28th out of 32. Also think Cards need a DT. They need OL more but, NT is in play. Lopez is a reliable vet but, only that. They could use an upgrade &, younger player to take over. Bills need WR bad tho. So I'm worried McDonald will be picked. hopefully not both he & Miller tho.16 to 88 wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 10:20 pm Arguably our biggest needs are on the OL, DT, S and WR.

Nice wrap up and still to come...Jeevo wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 8:55 pm Missed a fair bit in the middle, Philly traded up, with Dallas no less, to take a WR? The rumoured Brown trade to New England is on?
The 8-9 Colts have 14 teams in front of them before their first selection in a WR heavy draft after paying Alec Pierce who is rehabbing an ankle surgery a bajillion dollars to play the position.
The 8-9 Falcons who have the worst draft selection rankings have 15 more teams in front of them before they finally make a selection and may still need a quarterback.
Jordan Love still sucks, Parsons is rehabbing his ACL and in the meantime the Packers will wait 19 picks until they finally make their first selection. Oh, and Matt Lafleur still isn't as smart as he thinks he is.
And the Broncos who have the 2nd worst draft selection rankings still have 29 selections to go before they make their first pick and 45 selections after that before they make there next one. But they traded for Jaylen Waddle in a WR heavy draft so there's that. Oh, and Sean Payton is still a horses patute.

The boards I follow were once again pretty accurate today with the exception of a few players. For sure, they miss as well so it's not going to be perfect obviously, but pretty good. As for round 2 the first set of players I listed likely all go within the first 7-10 selections of the 2nd round. Christen Miller on the boards I look at have him bottom of 2nd top of 3rd.MexicanHulk wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 10:36 pm DT is definitely in play for the Bills, unfortunately. Giants aced it. Baltimore hit a good one, Cowboys did decent.
Miami f[raiders_icon]cked themselves, Jets still make no sense to me and KC gave up picks for a guy who would have been there when they picked and he was still the wrong guy. And the Rams are just stupid for that pick.

It's just not realistic for the Eagles to trade Brown before June 1 because the dead money hit in 2026 will be too high because it all hits 2026. If it's after June 1 then a bunch of dead money is deferred to 2027. The dead money is the same total either way, but the Eagles don't have the cap space to do it before June 1 without forcing other moves they don't want to make. I think the idea that Brown could get traded before that was a media creation by guys starved for clicks or by guys who don't understand the details..... or both.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 9:27 pm Absolutely, but after Jun 1st I believe. Can’t remember why that is, but there was some financial reasoning. Chucker probably knows.

Glad the DT Caleb Banks with 2 foot surgeries was picked by Minnesota at 18.
I wanted nothing to do with him and now hes not part of the equation.

Whoa! Miller ranked at the end of 2nd to early 3rd. C.Miller is an end of 1st to early 2nd. By pretty much every board I’ve seen of people I follow. Also, where I have him myself.16 to 88 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 12:00 am The boards I follow were once again pretty accurate today with the exception of a few players. I have little doubt Brown gets moved, but I was never convinced the Eagles were in any kind of rush to do it.chucker wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 5:40 am It's just not realistic for the Eagles to trade Brown before June 1 because the dead money hit in 2026 will be too high because it all hits 2026. Daniel Jeremiah says you should take one of either OL/DL in 1 of the 1st 3 rounds every year. If they don’t take a DT tonight I’d like one of those CB’s that dropped who have 1st round gradesJeevo wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 8:32 pm 18 of the 32 picks were on either the O or D line. the only cb with a 1st rd grade is mccoy who fell due to his injury from jan 2025, kid would have easily been cb1 in this class without the injurySloth_Fratelli wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:35 am Daniel Jeremiah says you should take one of either OL/DL in 1 of the 1st 3 rounds every year.
