We site the game where aoc didn't complete a pass for 3 quarters but why not site the game where he put up 62 on the Chargers?

Puzzling, isn't it? I gotta chalk it up to boredom, but still, the over the top hate is, well,...puzzling.KillerRaider30 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 10:46 am We site the game where aoc didn't complete a pass for 3 quarters but why not site the game where he put up 62 on the Chargers?

Aidan has overcome his entire career starting with being a walk on in college and 5th on the depth chart to starter so I wouldn't rule out anything.raidersince63 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 11:04 am Puzzling, isn't it? His average completion percentage in college was 66.7 and had his best year in 2021 where he completed 71.8 of his passes. He had a total of 65 TDs against 30 ints.
In the 17 games he started he holds a 7-10 record. A 7-10 season is almost better than anything we showed over the past 3 years.
2023 8-9
2024 4-13
2025 3-14
In Aidan's 3 year NFL career he's had 3 head coaches and SIX offensive coordinators.
Now we all talk about if the offensive line gets better coaching within a stable system they will improve.
Why not the same for Aoc? If he manages to become 10% better I think he can be a solid backup.
I think he's one of those career backups meaning he can come in and finish a game but dont ask him to finishthe year.
If any teams QB goes down for the year they're sunk. Same here.
He doesn't run. Well neither does Mendoza or Cousins. Fact is one of Mendoza's shot falls IS his pocket awareness.
And its not like Kubiak's offense depends on a mobile QB.
For all intense purposes Kubiak runs a wide zone west coast offense where the QB is a POCKET passer.
Yes Mendoza will run 2-3 times a game and Aoc 1 time. Thats about right for the backup. Yes?
And yes Kubiak may want his guy as backup. I get it. Site Aoc's age and I more than get it.
Is this good enough backup play given the better coaching and stable system he'll receive?
Check it out.

^^^AOC is what he is, which is a 3rd string QB, certainly not a QB1 and probably will never be a QB2. On the depth chart he's listed 3rd for a reason, as does most every NFL team.

I actuallly think hes a fine qb2 if you have a good veteran starter. Will work hard be a good teamate and can come on and not lose you the game. But hes not an ideal #2 behind a rookie or developing quarterback and you don't want him playing a ton. I think the main disconnect continues to be that there are 64 quarterbacks better than him. Most backups are not good at all.

He was the #2 QB in each of his 3 NFL years behind Geno, Minshew and Garoppolo.raidersince63 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 12:50 pm ^^^AOC is what he is, which is a 3rd string QB, certainly not a QB1 and probably will never be a QB2. Its not that AOC doesn't run. He doesn't move, slide away from the rush. He's like the statue of Liberty waiting to get hammered.
He's a perfect #3 but not at 3.6 million.
But in the big picture it does not matter in 2026.

I get what you're saying but there were 3tds he wasn't responsible for. So he didn't exactly put up all of those points himselfKillerRaider30 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 10:46 am We site the game where aoc didn't complete a pass for 3 quarters but why not site the game where he put up 62 on the Chargers?

I agree with #2 and #3, but just to throw my observation out there he does slide and move in the pocket. Sometimes a little late though and very little pocket awareness.Rabidraider wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 1:39 pm Its not that AOC doesn't run. He doesn't move, slide away from the rush. He threw for 4 and was QB during 2 rushing TDs. What more do you want?Hellbound wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 3:08 pm I get what you're saying but there were 3tds he wasn't responsible for. So he didn't exactly put up all of those points himself

I understand hes #3 today. Every one does.raidersince63 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 5:04 pm We're not talking about 2-3 years ago...we're talking about now and moving forward.
There's Cousins and Mendoza and then AOC.
Im talking about next year when Cousins is gone.
Can he be a solid #2? Or does he have no chance.

Can he improve? perhaps. But no, I don't believe he will achieve #2 status.KillerRaider30 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 5:13 pm I understand hes #3 today. Every one does.

So he handed the ball to someone and the other player scored the actual td. Count two more less tds he was responsible forKillerRaider30 wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 5:10 pm He threw for 4 and was QB during 2 rushing TDs. What more do you want?
