I don't see this going anywhere. Congress gave them the exemption and they have no competition.

Actually during the time of leather helmets, owners typically lost money and many teams folded. It was the college game that held court as the best in football. Teams did not start being universally profitable until the 60s but many teams were break even or just over the green line even then. the AFL almost folded several times.mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2026 3:00 pm leather helmets, when the guys made crap money but even then the owners made money

One of my favourite quotes of all time is something Tony Kornheiser often references. Dick Ebersol, Prez of NBC Sports at the time, or something close to that, said before a press conference started, “the answer to all of your questions is “money””.

Money makes the world go round or in the case of the NFL, makes them greedy f[raiders_icon]cks who don't care that people are being priced out of watching their favorite teams in the stadium but on the tv as well. I will be honest and say I have not paid for any kind of NFL package for several years now and unless the boys are the MNF, TNF, or SNF game, I usually go to a local bar to watch it.

No idea what any of it means. And if it’s disrespecting hot dogs then I’m out.

The truth is that NFL should be on TV and completely free….look at all the commercials they get to play during a game; the game one hour long but end up going to three hours with all the stoppage they have….
I have no idea what the NFL makes from one game on commercials alone; but I bet it quite a lot of money…
