Its what I suspected. Just interesting hearing insiders talk about all the dissaray. Even with all the f[raiders_icon]ckery, Raiders still made the playoffs in his last year subsequent to Grudens resignation. Imagine what could have been if he relinquished the reigns to a real GM who could have built a solid team..

Davis-"He thinks like a fan" which I have been beating my chest over for years. This goes back to his childhood.

He was given all the power, he was not the kind of guy to give it back.

I will pose the question, is the Doofus era literally as bad as the post Super Bowl years under the Old Man? I know we went to the playoff twice under Doofus but after reading this article, and I do not doubt the validity of the it, are both guys equally that bad as owners?

We all know Al was a pillar and legendary figure of the league..He had more football knowledge in his pinky finger than Mark will ever know. That said, the game past Al by and he refused to evolve with the times.

Doofus on the other hand, as inept as he was in his first dozen years, seems to have finally learned the recipe for potential success. To me this was evident when he refrained from being a strong presence at Kubiak's presser. You may have noticed Mark sat with the media and, in image at least, let Spytek completely take the reigns as Controling hand of player and coaching personnel. I know there's still a big hill to climb to respectability but it's a start.

We already knew the broad strokes and even some details.

Gruden had too much power and drafted shitty players. That's not anything we haven't known for years.

The Thumb ignored his past drafting decisions in Tampa, which was one of the reasons Gruden ruined that franchise so quickly, but Mark still gave Gruden full control over anything he wanted.

It was easily foreseeable and easily preventable. Also, Gruden was enamored with Carr, which tells anyone all they need to know about his ability to evaluate talent.

the difference is mark took over a jalopy of an organization thanks to al davis...no money, no luxury boxes, no concessions, no parking and no control of a stadium

fast forward

raiders organization is now worth 11.1 billion (top 3), we got luxury boxes, we got concessions, we got parking and we got control of a stadium from a business stand point mark has been phenomenal and it now looks like the football end is about to turn back to winning

im not sure why you keep calling mark doofus...maybe it make you feel good to demean the guy with the bowl cut ???

I did not ask a thing about the stadium. I asked about the team. Great, he got a shiny toy of a stadium. I get it that you think that is just nifty. I do not watch stadiums, I watch football. Did you watch the team he has put on the field. And make no mistake, the buck stops with him. As for calling him a word. If the word I use offends you, block my ass. I will say what I want when I want and do not owe you a damn explanation.

mark turned the fortunes of the raiders around from poorest to 3rd richest during those yrs he took control and lets not forget what mark took over a business that was in trouble financially that had no control over anything other then playing football and even that was a farce cause al davis in his latter yrs f[raiders_icon]cked up the entire organization from top to bottom running it like a mom n pop shop and so behind on technology

we r now the 3rd richest franchise worth 11.1 billion, we have state of the art everything and we r finally building a winning franchise again with kubiak, spytek, brady and soon fernando as the face of the organization...

yes, the little man feel all powerful calling others names...gotcha

ps the franchise as a whole went from 800 million to 11.1 billion and now it looks like mark it fixing the team too ...i suppose it possible to watch football without a stadium somewhere on earth ...can the fans whom go to games watch the game without a stadium hosting the game ???

I was hoping for some piece of new information but it's just stuff we extrapolated ourselves. I'm skeptical this guy even has sources, you can quite literally take some posts on this forum and put "sources said" in front of it and it would read the same. The timing of this article being released probably directly correlates to Gruden's trial date being set a week ago. Glad we're past the Gruden Era but the league certainly screwed us at the end, and I won't take pleasure in journalists dragging us through the mud because Goodell is most likely their source.

I'd argue the league did us a favor. Screwed gruden sure but it got us rid of Gruden and Carr. Without that I'm not sure Brady agrees to become part owner and we sign gruden to a new 10 year extension after his breakout 8-9 season

Again, I don't owe you a damn thing. And I don't watch money, I watch football. Your just a bit too obtuse for me to waste any more time on you.
