Youre happy with them over the last quarter century?

Do I want World Series wins. Dam straight. But its a crap shoot when you get into the playoffs. I don't shit on players who struggle in the playoffs. Judge has the most home runs in elimination games in baseball history. If he gets in a few more deep playoff runs he might end up with the most post season home runs in history. He hit .500 last year. A few year ago he hit .421 He gets more bad calls than any player I have ever seen.

Stating he only hits bad pitching while winning 3 MVP's is ridiculous.

When did I blame Judge for no titles in 25 years? He debuted in 2016. I dont generally blame players for struggling in the PS if its a small sample size or if theyre just an average player. But here's a guy who represents that he's a 40 million dollar player, but folds like a cheap suit in 6 of the last 7 playoffs. If you sign for the big money, where do you think the blame is going to fall? How many times was he outperformed in the clutch and sent home packing by that little twirp, Altuve, who was making a fraction of the money Judge makes? And his 2018 ALDS antics certainly didnt help.


And I granted you that he had a good series against Toronto last season. If you sign for 40 million, you should perform like youre worth 40 million. And you should do that more than once. And since he has been "the guy" on the NYY he has come up short in the PS year after year. You can cherry pick stats, like most HRs in elimination games, but how do you explain his overall PS numbers, other than that he feasts on the bad pitching of 4th and 5th starters and middle inning relievers during the season, but cant match those numbers against the better pitching of playoff teams that dont even play their 4th and 5th starters? For his career his PS OPS is 200 points lower than his regular season OPS. And its even worse than that. The split between his PS OPS and his regular season OPS has gotten much wider since he has become "the guy". In 2017 and 2018 PSs, he actually matched those performances, but as he has entered his prime that split has become alarming. This is why, no less of a baseball historian than Costas raised this issue in the 24 WS. From 2022-25 he has posted 4 seasons of an OPS >1.000. The three seasons he won MVP (22, 24, 25) he posted OPSs >1.100. In '22 his PS OPS was .450. They didnt make the playoffs in '23. In '24 his PS OPS <.750. In '25 the numbers were comparable.

As far as career PS HRs goes, I doubt he ever becomes the leader. 2026 is his age 34 season and in the post steroid era this is already in the decline phase. And if he does, it will be through sheer volume of appearances/blind squirrel finding some nuts. He currently sits at 17 through 8 postseasons. The little twirp, Altuve, has 27 in 8PSs!!!. Do you know who else is ahead of him? Kyle F'in Schwarber, George F'in Springer and Alex F'in Bregman. Do you find it astonishing that those three players with career regular season OPSs of .846, .830 and .845 are outhomering a guy with a career OPS of 1.026? And significantly outhomering him 23-17.

And if you watched him during the post season the umps would expand the zone so low and outside he ended up pressing and going out of the zone. That's why I brought up the computer zone should help him.

1.That was in response to you writing "wow", questioning my fandom. The original discussion that prompted your wow was my post which you ignored about the performance and decisions of various people over the last 25 years, including Judge, ARod, Cashman and Steinbrenner. Even a small modicum of common sense should have been enough to tell you that Judge couldnt possibly be responsible for anything prior to the start of his career in 2016.

2. You can cherry pick all you want to. His entire record is that his career postseason OPS is 200 points lower than his regular season OPS. A point you repeatedly ignore and instead reply to with out of context cherry picked stats. EG 17 post season HRs. Is 17 post season HRs good? For a singles and doubles hitter that would be good. For a power hitter with a career OPS of 1.026 like Judge its not. If you extrapolate how many PS HRs he would have based on a full season of ABs, the number of HRs would be 36. This is far below what would be expected for a guy who puts up 50-60 HRs during the season. So your repeated citing 17 HRs is not a defense. It is an indictment. And that is not clutch. That is the opposite of clutch. And Hrs in an elimination game doesnt necessarily mean anything either. Its just another cherry picked stat. In those 6 games what were the circumstances? People who believe clutch is a real thing use close and late as a criterion of clutch. The Yankees lost 3 of those six games. And 2 of the three they won, Judge's HR were early in the game and were not the deciding hit or even the margin of victory.

I am in my 60's now and I became a Dodger fan in the 60's, so I love 'em.
But not really loving this version, buy it and replace.
