Succession Plan

Probably doesn’t need its own thread but I thought it would be Brady. Or is that still Brady?

Can’t be sure how much influence Brady has, or if Spy has finally been given the actual powers normally bestowed upon a GM, but for me it’s obvious how much better things look with Doofus willing to be minimized.

Night and f[raiders_icon]cking day.

Keep that hate in your heart though buddy, it’s good for the Soul.
Mark Davis took over a raider team that his dad ran into the ground; think in Al last 10 years Mark should have had more control over the raiders then; but you knew Al would never give up control…. So I would have to give Mark at least the first five just to sort the team out….
Hopefully this new era work out for Mark and good days are coming…

Yea Mark started with an unfair disadvantage over any other owner. I think Reggie's first year as GM he didn't have a draft pick until round 3? And our available cap surely wasn't in the top percentile like it was this year. He inherited plenty of disfunction. He also had a crypt of a stadium in a dying market, who his father was more inclined to prove a point then actually grow the brand because he was fighting ghosts. Although folks want to suggest he was just replying to emails yes/no while pounding wings at hooters, I think Mark had a big hand in overseeing the relocation which was undoubtedly a positive for our organization.

I do fault Mark for making some rough fires/hires but I also wonder if some of the adversity was unavoidable. Many things were outside of his control, and while it's not worth any of our time to wonder "What if Carr didn't break his leg, or Gruden sent those emails, or Ruggs went to Topgolf?" These are all things completely outside the owner's control that definitely impacted the trajectory of our franchise. I think it's valid to say that we have trended in the right direction. And well, sometimes you make a decision with the best of intentions and it still doesn't work out.

I’ve already stated that I commend Doofus for finally recognizing the need for him to step away from the day to day operations and allow football men to guide the team.

"It's incredible to be able to help shape, to be a strategist and visionary for a team," Brady recently told The Athletic.

"It was really important for me to get some type of infrastructure on the football side of this building," Davis told show host Baron Davis. "I had gone after Jon for six years and felt he would be the person that could maybe carry the torch forward. And, unfortunately, that was cut short through some unfortunate circumstances.
"And I feel Tom is the one now to take this organization into the future, on the football side, and maybe get my failures into successes. You know, because I'll take all the credit if it works."

I also stated that franchise’s value doesn’t mean jackshit to a football fan. Raise your hand if you became a fan of the Raiders, football, or any f[raiders_icon]cking sports team because of franchise value…anyone…hello? f[raiders_icon]cking crickets.

The franchise value is important to you as it’s all you’ve got to defend your boy Doofus. Try using that with someone in an argument about football.

“Your team sucks!”
“Oh yeah? Well…what’s the franchise value of your team?”

If franchise value had any correlation to the product on the football field, Dallas would have just won their 19th Super Bowl in a row.

Look man, after that coward ass QB and his constant failures gave this fanbase endless embarrassment, and on top of that the endless stream of bullshit excuses for why he sucked, I’ve simply got no patience for any head-in-the-sand bullshit.

Doofus has been bad for this football team. How do we know? Because the f[raiders_icon]cking team has sucked. Maybe now that he is finally stepping away from the football side things will change for the better. This offseason is the first one that’s looked like it’s been made by a modern professional football franchise in at least a decade. Maybe it leads to winning football games. That’s what I care about today. Same as I cared about 60+ years ago.

the football operations has an impact on the football team though being the poorest team limits you in many ways, not owning parking, not owning concessions and not owning arena has a massive impact on the overall health of the franchise, as i have said many times before on this matter i think he has failed on the football side of the operations but we have hope now with spytek, brady in charge of operations, we have hope cause we draft #1 and going to take a franchise qb in fernando...football team itself looks like its on solid ground once more couple that with we have new partners in ownership (hedgefund guy and brady and his agent) i think we can finally see the light

ive been with the raiders for over 50+ yrs as a fan and seen the shit on the field for 20 of those yrs

Mark Davis has been the owner of the Las Vegas Aces for roughly 5 years, having officially acquired the team from MGM Resorts International in February 2021 for 2 million.

Ownership Timeline
Agreement to Purchase: Davis first announced his agreement to buy the franchise on January 14, 2021.
Official Approval: The WNBA Board of Governors formally approved the sale on February 12, 2021.
Purchase Price: He bought the team for an estimated $2 million.

Key Achievements Under Ownership
Since taking over, Davis has significantly increased the team's investment and valuation:
Championships: The Aces have won three WNBA titles during his tenure (2022, 2023, and 2025).
Facilities: He oversaw the construction of a $40 million, 50,000-square-foot dedicated training facility in Henderson, Nevada, which opened in April 2023.
Valuation Growth: As of mid-2025, the team's estimated valuation has risen to over $300 million, driven by team success and high-profile investments, including one from Tom Brady.
