I'm not making any bold predictions that he'll flop, just not in love with it.Xramfan wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:18 am I dont know him at all except what Ive read yesterday after we signed him. Playing behind Addison and Jefferson may explain "not breaking out" yet. It also doesnt appear they "let him walk" but rather they lost a guy they hoped to keep but couldn't keep everybody. Seems most of their fans are upset to see him go.
Who knows? He may flop, he may thrive but apparently Kubiak and Spy see something they really like.....time will tell

Kubiak system will scheme him open is my bet.
No need to spend 90M today.
They have many drafts in Mendoza's career.

Can he catch the back shoulder throw?
Yes, Jalen Nailor has developed a reputation for being highly effective on back-shoulder throws, particularly during his 2025 breakout season with the Minnesota Vikings.
Performance on Back-Shoulder Throws
Clutch Production:
Nailor caught critical back-shoulder pass" to seal a win against the Detroit Lions in 2025.
Red Zone Utility:
Analysts have noted his ability to track back-shoulder fades in the red zone, specifically highlighting his chemistry with quarterback J.J. McCarthy on these difficult "bucket" catches.
Contested Catch Skill:
Despite his smaller frame, he won 4 out of 5 contested targets from McCarthy in late 2025, many of which were high-degree-of-difficulty sideline throws.
Body Control:
Scouting reports highlight his elite body control and ability to adjust to balls thrown low or behind him.
Concentration:
He is described as a "natural pass-catcher" who can make acrobatic catches look easy due to his focus at the catch point.
Separation:
While he uses his 4.50 speed to get deep, he is also praised as a savvy route runner who can "set up and sell" routes to create the space needed for back-shoulder adjustments.

I know it isn’t official but according to stats he had 1 drop in 50ish targets this year. Gotta love guys that can catch the ball. Very Jakobi Myersesque

We can spin this any way we want. But the FACT is that this is an upside signing only. His past production doesn't match what he's being paid. Sure, we all see the potential. But that's all it is. Let's hope it pays off. I'm a gambler so im good with it.

Yep paying for future potential, not past. Hoping being a 3rd option held him back. We still have Tucker, Thornton, Bech and of course Bowers.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:56 am We can spin this any way we want. But the FACT is that this is an upside signing only. Vikes wanted to resign him but they couldn't at that price.Jeevo wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:38 am Not a huge fan of the signing, always a little leery when a guy hasn't broken out with the team that drafted him and then let him walk, but you have to trust that your guys got it right.

Or we wouldn't of signed him at all. Bc at that point, you worry is that is ceiling. But yes, I agree that the market is crazy.DanKD wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 1:05 pm Thats factually true but if he caught 45 balls for 1000 then wed be paying him 29 million

Pierce is also almost 2 years younger, is a much better deep threat and led the league in average yards per catch two years in a row.

Which AI do you use? I’ll use GPT on occasion, but always curious why people use different ones.KillerRaider30 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:36 am Kubiak system will scheme him open is my bet.
