It usually takes about 18 months post surgery to get back to where he was before the injury.

This just feels like another overpay for him. I know edge is a PREMIUM, it’s a 1 year deal, 2nd year after ACL is better but I just don’t see it. We’ve committed 27 over 2 years to someone with half of a season of impact. Both times feels like we’re bidding against ourselves.

Thinking Leonard had something to do with this. Hopefully he saw something as he’s spent plenty of time with him, as opposed to the limited amount we’ve all seen. I’ll remain optimistic.

Probably wouldn't of resigned him but I am just a bit curious to see him in the 3-4 healthy.

Edge Malcolm Koonce returning to Las Vegas

Top 150 ranking: 81
Reported deal: 1 year, $11 million
Grade: A

A talented pass rusher with a nice bag of tricks, Koonce returns on a prove-it deal and will be counted on to help fill the void caused by Maxx Crosby’s departure. Koonce recorded a career-best eight sacks and 17 quarterback hits in 2023. Last season, he returned from the ACL tear that robbed him of the 2024 season and recorded four sacks and 30 tackles. The Raiders are hoping he can take another leap forward now two years removed from that injury. — Jones

I think Koonce started to come around at the end of the year. Despite having a rough year he finished with 4.5 sacks. I think with a healthy offseason he will be closer to what we saw at the end of 2024.

Got a message from the Raiders that they resigned Koonce. Thought it was something about an adjusted contract. Maybe, it was just an official update.
