I've seen it said a few times that this is less value than the Parsons trade. IMO it's more trade compensation. A #14 pick would generally compare to a #20 plus an early third rounder. An early third rounder is in the range of what you might get in trade for a 30 year old Kenny Clark.

But the key is that the Raiders get to use that #14 pick before they have to play another game - the Cowboys' draft pick returns on the trade were deferred for a full season.

Spytek nailed it. And Spytek signing Maxx to that extension last year certainly helped to get this deal done too.

Yeah if you paid $99 he confirned that m Crosby was going to be either traded or staying with the Raiders

So much for that. Now we have no one who could rush the passer. I guess they thought he wasn't gonna fit in as a 3-4 linebacker.

I'm sure they will find someone to rush the passer. He won't be a Maxx but, he doesn't need to be. Maxx was great. I have no problem with him. He would have made very little difference to a re-building team. How much difference did he make last season? We're better off for trading him in the long run.
