That’s your opinion, that goes against many decades of football where a clear dog at WR1 is necessary.Attyla wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 3:15 am Bowers can run routes every pass play, all we need to do is get a pure pass blocking TE. And no, you don't "need" someone on the outside that has to be accounted for each snap. This is an over simplified view of a pass offense. What you need is to maximize the offense with the personnel you have. Thornton will be covered every play he is out there. Same with Bech and on down the receiving corps. It is up to Kubiak and his OC to create mismatches and for a rookie QB that does start with your RBs and TEs. That is how it has been and how it will be.
Only 6 Super Bowl winning teams have Pulled this off in 60 super bowls
I much rather go with the other 54 winning teams. We have enough going against us already

Not for a first year QB. The game is far too fast for a first year QB to be looking to the wings. He needs an outlet receiver, but only on a very limited basis. His bread and butter is the RBs and TEs/slot receiver. Thornton is fine for his first year. What we do need is a vastly better line in both run blocking and pass blocking. That should be the focus this off season. And no, that is not just my opinion.NoClapsPlease wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 5:14 am That’s your opinion, that goes against many decades of football where a clear dog at WR1 is necessary.

If anyone thinks the our current WR room is enough because we have Bowers, you’re delusional.
We don’t need a diva #1, but another option when the game is on the line is non-negotiable imo.

....after seeing what I saw yesterday, the o line first, as the #1 and other options for the Patriots couldn't overcome being dominated at the line.....I was shocked at how weak the left side looked, especially.....

Left Tackle and Guard looked like they were on roller skates all night.WNYRAIDER wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 5:25 am ....after seeing what I saw yesterday, the o line first, as the #1 and other options for the Patriots couldn't overcome being dominated at the line.....I was shocked at how weak the left side looked, especially.....

I'm glad Seattle won. He can leave them with a warm glow and that knows he did his job.

We have options on the team we know next to nothing about. Will we add a receiver? It is almost certain we will. Is it a priority? I think adding another RB and a bunch of OL is far more important. But we will get a receiverBG3428 wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 5:18 am If anyone thinks the our current WR room is enough because we have Bowers, you’re delusional.

Looking forward to being proud to be a Raiders fan and some wins. Seahawks have a great defense, hopefully he brings someone to install some of what they have. They also have Darnold and Walker whereas we have Mendoza and Jeanty. I like our odds.

Actually, this may be unique to us. Name the last time we got the "hot OC" on the market with a ton of cap space and the first overall pick in the draft. Even when we drafted JaMarcus and had Kiffin, it was not this situation and that is as close as I can come to where we are at now.SuperRaider wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 5:44 am Hope it work out; been here before where it will just crash and burn…

...physically weak, even.....I know that lt Campbell is hurt, and that may be part of it, but I can't believe that after a while of seeing that he had no chance, that they didn't have someone who could at least bring some relief there.tatalalicious wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 5:27 am Left Tackle and Guard looked like they were on roller skates all night.

Superbowl winning OC + Heisman Trophy/CFB Champion 1st overall QB. I would say we're in uncharted territory.Attyla wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 5:48 am Actually, this may be unique to us. I'm pumped for this hire. Nothing is guaranteed success but it's nice to get your first choice for a change.
