Love Algeier. Linebacker converter to RB at BYU. Thats an ideal scenario. Big body who runs hard with good speedchucker wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:19 am You could give Tyler Algeier a few million bucks in FA. Decent runner, but not good enough to command a big contract. Good pass blocker who's going to help keep Mendoza from getting killed on a blitz.

Yeah lets try another former Pittsburgh Steeler WR head case

12 Personnel as the base. Kubiak is smart and likely sees multiple ways to utilize Mayer and Bowers at the same time.chucker wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:25 am Our #1 receiving option is going to be Bowers. We can't add a WR who will be a pain in the ass if he's not the #1 option. I have no interest in Pickens. Bowers is "our JSN". I'd certainly be interested in Rashid Shaheed - for less money, less headaches plus value as a returner and Kubiak's familiarity with him. I'm sure the Seahawks will try to re-sign him though.
The way that the last two OCs have used Mayer borders on criminal.
This goes a long way and I agree with your point. We don’t need or even want a headache like Pickens when there are other options out there.
What I want to see? Early Brady dinking and dunking the defense to death especially considering our QB will be a rookie. Lull the D to sleep and then bam. Kubiak’s offense is about precision and making it as easy as possible for the QB to exploit the mismatches.
Within Bowers and Maysrnout there it becomes even tough for the D.

I agree completely. And I still think Bech can be a good WR. Tucker is pretty good. And Thornton has a chance to develop, even though he's not the prospect that his H/W/S fans believe he is - maybe he gets there but til will take time. I expect that 2026 will be a season for running the ball and spamming the shorter passing game with an occasional shot when the defense creeps up too much.Willmark wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:38 am 12 Personnel as the base. Make it easier on Mendoza's development in 2026, and worry about trying to compete in 2027

It’s true that Pickens is a pain in the ass, I was more thinking about what he’d bring as a player.
Fair point to only want to bring in good culture guys, nice to have top talent but the worst thing that could happen right now is another AB situation. Need to put that crap behind us, that alone could be enough reason not to get Pickens.
Like I said, more of a daydream — even if Pickens was a good team guy, it’s irresponsible to try to get a Ferrari when we’re behind on the mortgage payments. He’ll cost a big contract and I imagine the cowboys will probably try to get draft capital in return for him via tag & trade.
Linderbaum is my dream FA, if we’re gonna spend money that’s the kind of player that could make a difference in all phases of the offensive game

Linderbaum is my #1 target too. I'll be happy with resetting the market for centers. I've heard $18 million mentioned.... I'd go significantly above that.Raiders Baby wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:43 am It’s true that Pickens is a pain in the ass, I was more thinking about what he’d bring as a player.

Black from Indiana would be a nice addition to Jeanty. Hard runner who can scootRaiders Baby wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:10 am Agree, that’s closer to what I’m getting at. Jeanty is our guy, but it would be very nice to have a guy who can reliably spell him. Kubiak loves to run the ball to set up passing concepts from 12 personnel, and while Jeanty will be the star of the show, it would be great to have someone who can bring fresh legs and give Jeanty a breather

Imagine having to tackle Ashton Jeanty & Tyler Algeier all game long. By the 4th quarter you're making business decisionspfish57 wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 10:07 am I like that choice a lot...tough runner always gets yards!!!!

Is Mostert still on the books? He's old, but he's a system fit. Hell him and Klint may have been in San Fran at the same time.chucker wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 8:46 am I think we need a backup RB. We don't need a two headed monster at RB, we need some depth in case of injury and we need to give Jeanty a heavy load. We could add a pretty low priced FA for that if we want.

I mentioned Pickens last week and was dogpiled lol. Clearly not popular among Raider fans, but I do agree with you. I saw some folks suggest Alec Pierce as a good pickup which blows my mind. Dude is good for 40 catches a year and might get around $20 mill per. Pickens is an elite talent. I don't think we need to get him, but he's probably the only veteran WR worth pursuing right now. The other guys available kind of suck lol. I think I've settled on fix the run game this year, and make a strong push for Olave next year, who I'm very high on.Raiders Baby wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:43 am It’s true that Pickens is a pain in the ass, I was more thinking about what he’d bring as a player.

Linderbaum would be the single biggest improvement on the line and also the single biggest support we can give Mendoza to be successful player wise.chucker wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:45 am Linderbaum is my #1 target too. And if not Linderbaum we better have some high quality options in mind.

Why would Pierce blow your mind? Especially in year one of a rookie QB? He’s everything you’d want in a WR, let alone in Kubiak’s system.NoThanksSir wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 11:52 am I mentioned Pickens last week and was dogpiled lol. Not a diva, great hands/rare drops, disciplened route running, blocks well and will actually do it.
Note: I’m not saying we will or should get him but I don’t see any downsides to him compared to a prima Donna like Pickens who the team does not need with tha baggage.
