Cards are a mess but so were we. After week 8, I had given up hope that we could figure it out. One by one the best college QBs were falling apart, we were stuck with a coach who thought he had it figured out but did not, Brady was f[raiders_icon]cking up everything and it looked like our goofy owner was going to take back more control.

Then we found out that Brady was far less involved than people were sayiing Mendoza ascended and Carroll kept loosing. The result since the end of the year have been astounding. We got the most ready QB out there, we got the coach, we have a minority owner that put together that coaching hire and our goofy owner apparently has a rival for most goofy hair in the league. If any one of those things had not happened, the other pieces would not have, starting with Carroll struggling, and Mendoza winning it all and declaring, now Kubiak and f[raiders_icon]ck that ugly hairstyle.

I am in a pretty damn good mood.

Well that's cause for celebration in itself.

Taking a step back and removing my rose colored glasses I honestly believe that there is cause for some legitimate optimism:

All World TE
Very good TE to pair him with.
A RB that is so good he nearly was in the rookie of the year conversation despite our OL and despite taking so many hits behind the LOS. No doubt with his durability and he will only get better.
Very good shape cap wise.

Yes, the OL is Swiss cheese.
Yes, our WR corps is meh
Yes, our defense is average at best yet they played well enough to keep us in some games where the offense was pitching three and outs and Geno was throwing int's.

Many of our deficiencies can be shored up with free agency because we have the cap space.
The WR's on our roster are green but have potential.

Carson was shaky at times but I chalk that up as the yips, he should bounce back.
AJ Carson is still none of the best of the game.

This certainly will not be the end of this teams struggles but if good decisions regarding the coach staff and player aquisitions are made this off season to give Kubiak the tools to succeed and our owner manages to not be a tool, it could be the beginning of the end.

I am going to enjoy some scotch and a cigar. It's a good day.

Hopefully, the story of Kubiak and Mendo lights the network fires and we get on tv more than last year. Of course the won/loss record played into it considerably. I'm limited in how I can watch games where I am located. Dish and shitty internet.

Cards got themselves into the same situation with Murray that we were in with Carr, maybe even more so. Decent QB that can win with a strong team around him, but paid like a franchise QB, so not enough cap room to assemble the necessary roster.

Yup, once you decide that you can’t win with a QB you need to move on right away, regardless of the dead cap, etc.. Every day after that moment is a wasted one.

Cards fans are already predicting LaFleur lasts longer than Kubiak. And that is with short stack as their QB LOL

All QBs need a strong team to win. Look the qb for Seattle this year, what changed for him? You don’t win with scrubs,

The only proven weapon Fernando will have this year is an all pro tight end.

Hopefully guys like Jenaty will live up to the hype. He will need a lot of help as a rookie.

Getting Kubiak is an excellent hire on paper but we will need at least three years to know what we have,

I believe that the Raiders had Kubiak locked in a while ago. Davis Webb was the OC until Denver fired theirs and will promote Webb. All the other interviews were for OC/DC or intel.
