Goodbye Graham

Unread post by erickench »

It was nothing personal. I just felt that he never did fit the scheme that we were running. A 3-4 coach being asked to run a 4-3 could very well affect his judgement. IMO it did when it came to scouting defensive linemen. He always preferred big linemen that are runstoppers. I once was a strong believer in the 3-4 because the Raiders won their very first Super Bowl utilising a 3-4. Then I came to believe in a cover 3 with a nascar D-line. This me made more sense. I wish Coach Graham the best. :smirk:

So far the only two names to vanish from the coaching roster on the Raiders' website since the end of the season are Graham and Ryan Paganetti (analytics guy)...... and Pete Carroll of course.

I imagine that changes a bit once Kubiak gets here. Looking forward to the Carroll spawn being shoved out the door, or being placed on urinal-cake cleaning duty.

Edit: I neglected to speak about Graham. Hahaha. So I’m guessing there’s a guy named John somewhere in Utah. And what this guy John does tomorrow has the same effect on me that Graham’s departure does.

He did pretty good considering what he was given to work with. Always acted in a professional manner and was a credit to the team. I wish him luck.

I thought Gus Bradley did more for this defense in his one year as our DC. That asshole McDaniels let a 4-3 coach walk away so that he could bring in a 3-4 coach to run his 4-3. The defense didn't fail after Graham took over, but it didn't get much better either. We were always in the middle of the pack in rankings.

if we had graham calling defense when del rio and grudens teams were piling on the points, i think we'd be much more upset.
considering we struggled to put ten points on the board means we never got to see if he was any good.
lets see which failure our new, if we bother appointing one, headcoach can find, paul guenthers available lol.

I think The Raiders are doing things right this time. The existing coaching staff will be addressed by their new Head Coach. He, with Spytek, will hire and fire as he sees fit to be successful.

I enjoyed Gus Bradley’s one season here.

I’d take Gus back in a heart beat.
