And Hondo Carpenter put an interesting tweet about doing an AL Davis…fire Pete Carroll at the end of the season and with the raiders pretty much having one of the two spots in the draft; re-hire Jon Gruden and draft Mendoza and also hire Derek Carr to come back and play for a year and start at QB while Mendoza sit on bench for year to learn…

I heard the Colts reached out to Carr last week but he's still the Saints property and they'd have to trade, so they signed Rivers instead

Who wouldn't take a 60 year old Rivers over Carr. Plus he has to recover from pretend surgery

Disclaimer I in no shape or form want Gruden back, the post is not about Gruden, it's about the game of football , it could have come from any coach. I found it interesting to see what goes into the every day life of a football head coach and how they prepare.

We have to see what happens; if Pete Carroll get fired; after one season, it may get really hard to get a good coach to come to Vegas….I don’t think Jon Gruden chances of being the next raider coach are very high; but you have think about the fan base in Vegas….the raiders are actually a team without a home….I mean every home game is like 50/50 with the fans and I think in a few games there was more visiting fans than home fans…maybe a HC like Jon Gruden could change that and bring the raiders fans back; I don’t know if this will work….

If Gruden does come back; he would have to be restricted from GM duties; Spytek would be the GM and have control over the FA and Draft; but he would have to listen to Gruden if he wants certain players;

I don't want Gruden back and don't believe there's a chance he'll be back. But that's not the point of the OP. It's pretty good information on what's happening in the week of preparation - and I suspect a lot of coaches use a lot of these same methods.

It's possible to separate the 2018-2021 coach from Gruden as a media guy and get some information out of it - even if some his histrionics on the videos are a bit over the top.

Some people do want to get the 2018-2021 band back together and can't resist turning this into a thread where they wish they'd never split with their high school girlfriend.
