Agree. Mendoza is not a Carson Beck situation. Beck stayed because his stock plummeted and by most accounts was a good decision. It’s possible he’s entered the first round discussion again for next year even.
I don’t see how Mendoza can raise his stock more by staying.
Nobody knows with certainty who will be the next Mahomes - or on the flip side the next Zach Wilson. But to even have a shot at landing one, you have to take a shot, and I’m not talking about a Cam Miller.
We have to take a chance on one that has true potential. Niner’s pulled one from their ass with Purdy, and even tho he’s better than anyone on our roster, he’s just meh to me.

Purdy has spurts where he plays really well, but they are spurts and he rarely puts together 60 minutes of good football.

As for Mendoza, those next 3 to 4 games (if he wins) is key to what he does. If he plays well, he declares. If he pulls a Nussmeier? Who knows if that happens. But I think he plays well enough to get it done. He is better than Ward who went number one last year, but that is really not saying much. Ward has been hot garbage for the most part. If I am an up and coming coordinator and the Titans request an interview? I run away as fast as possible.

Ego will be replaced with reality sooner than they think. Reality would dictate staying in school and collecting several million $$$ that makes sure you are covered financially through your life. Yea, there is much more money to be made in the NFL, but nothing in life is guaranteed. Staying in school and coming out a multi millionaire is close... IMO.

The old addage... "youth is wasted on the young" sure rings true.
He can just go back to school after his career is over.

Has there ever been any substance to this rumor?

Carroll's not the type to not play a guy just because he doesn't like him. And how do we know if that was ever the case anyway? Obviously JPJ's been playing injured. That's been apparent all season. I just don't think the guy is built for the punishment of the game much like Renfrow wasn't; a good player whose body can't stand up to the punishment for whatever reason.

Anyway, just like last year, O-line should be a priority in the draft. It's like having the same season and draft all over again.

Mendoza will make upwards of 2.6 million this year and still rising, he is already set for life money wise, if he stays in school his NIL deals next year will probably double or triple which will possibly be more than what he will make his rookie year in the NFL. Asinine would be entering the NFL and having to play for the Jets or Saints
First pick always goes to the bottom feeder. Whether he comes out this year or next, he's going to one of the worst teams.

Raiders need to acquire a guard in free agency and draft the top rated tackle. Probably need a new Oline coach lol.
I'm not sure that JPJ is a "good young player" yet. He is better than Parham, that's for sure, and obviously better than Cappa. But, if you look at all of his early career, he does not appear to be the next John Hannah or Quenton Nelson. We have not had a good offensive line since 2003. Heck, the Bears got Joe Thuney from the Chiefs for a 4th round pick. I like that deal a lot more than using a 3rd to get Geno Smith or signing Alex Cappa for two f'ing years for $11 million in which over $5 million is guaranteed. Ugh.

Yes, free agency this winter MUST bring us good players on both lines. But, knowing the Raiders, they will get another tight end and a back up linebacker to play special teams.

I disagree. Carr had a really good offensive line for at least a couple seasons.

Speaking of the 49ers, how about we pick up Mac Jones and draft for line and cornerback?

Isn't it nice not having to use a sarcasm emoji with this current version of our team?

I know Im in the minority and will get bashed but I don't think Mac is that bad of a qb. He had a solid rookie year and then had shit coaching including a DC for his oc. No qb is going to survive that shit show, let alone a 2nd yr guy
