Mendoza is almost a lock to be number 1. He would have to have a bad injury to not. The kid has every tool that is looked for in a qb. Size, arm, accuracy and some mobility. He’s also very smart with great character. Finished his bachelors in BA at Cal in 3 years. Paid for his final 2 classes hisself since he was transferring.

We need a complete injury history list on JPJ, including college. This guy is not just injury prone, hes an injury magnet. Hes a great player though so let him get healthy and trade him in the offseason.

You don’t trade good young players. The Raiders running game fell apart when JPJ left the game vs the Broncos.

Raiders need to acquire a guard in free agency and draft the top rated tackle. Probably need a new Oline coach lol.

A guard in free agency? With this staff? They tried that route. Cappa ring a bell? He's awesome let me tell you.

Obviously Cappa has not performed but the brass needs to keep swinging. Move on from Cappa and find another.

He was not even considered a top 10 guy at the beginning of the year as there were "sure fire" franchise guys ahead of him but all of them have fallen by the wayside. But he has eligibility left so you never know, especially with games left on his schedule. They are puff games but that does not matter, he needs to finish strong.
IIRC, the same was said about Jayden Daniels and Cam Ward when they started their last year of college ball. They both played themselves to the # 2 and # 1 overall picks in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

The brass can swing their way out of Vegas. The only one that will likely be here next year is Spytek.

He is guaranteed to be one of the 1st 2 (or 3) QBs off the board. If he stays in school, he could get injured or end up like Matt Lenheirt. Absolutely asinine to stay in school when you're a top pick in the draft.
What is the whole point of being the top pick ? it's to get paid, or that's what it was in the old days. Mendoza will make upwards of 2.6 million this year and still rising, he is already set for life money wise, if he stays in school his NIL deals next year will probably double or triple which will possibly be more than what he will make his rookie year in the NFL. Asinine would be entering the NFL and having to play for the Jets or Saints

If he stays, he could end up like Drew Allar. He's definately entering the NFL draft, for no other reason but the clout that comes with being the #1 overall pick in the draft.

People ignore the ego aspect of this shit. No amount of NIL money can pay for that ego boost.

More than likely he enters, but comparing him to Drew Allar, nah Allar never developed into a good QB

- Indiana winning the National Championship
- If they don't, is the team capable of getting there in 2026
- Who holds the number 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft and does Mendoza want to play for them

Don't forget the NIL (whether from Indiana or a team who wants to poach).

That's the thing with being a young 20's guy..... you're never going to be old... that's waaayyyy in the future. Except, it's not.

Ego will be replaced with reality sooner than they think. Reality would dictate staying in school and collecting several million $$$ that makes sure you are covered financially through your life. Yea, there is much more money to be made in the NFL, but nothing in life is guaranteed. Staying in school and coming out a multi millionaire is close... IMO.

The old addage... "youth is wasted on the young" sure rings true.

But, ego will not be the reason

We are lucky that Spy and Tom knew and had a relationship with Cappa. It really paid dividends. Sometimes it is good to have such vital inside information.
