Here are some interesting stats. Bech has been targeted 8 times and made 5 receptions while Thornton has been targeted 16 times and made 5 receptions. Why did we draft Bech in the 2nd round if we had no intention of playing him? He's a true possession receiver with alot of quickness and good route running ability. HE CATCHES THE BALL WHEN IT"S THROWN TO HIM!!!!!

Purely from memory and I may well be wrong but it seems Bech is thrown the shorter higher percentage passes whereas Thornton runs deeper routes. Again I could be wrong.

Not sure you can make any determinations. This Geno / Chip combo makes O'Connell and Hardegree look like hall of fame material.

OF COURSE!! He's a possession receiver. He moves the chains. But we already have a deep threat in Tucker. What do we need with Thornton who has limitations in his route running?

I had some hope for Thornton after seeing him take 1st team reps in preseason. Lot of OC would love to have a kid with that size/speed combo. That drop he had against Chicago he probably could have hauled in but that was a low ball from Geno too.

Bech is an excellent blocking receiver and I imagine he was drafted to make Jeanty a better weapon, but Kelly is a f[raiders_icon]cking idiot and nobody is playing to their strengths. Asshole

Bech runs the same route tree as Meyers so clearly he’s going to have limited opportunities as long as Meyers is starting. Myers missed his first game on Sunday but none of the receivers were seeing many balls because the offense was barely on the field and when it was, Smith was seeing ghosts in the pocket or running for his life.

With Geno and Chip looking like theyd be fired from the rec league its hard to gauge our receivers. Tucker seems to be doing a great job separating.

I don't think Chip Kelly is the problem. He has great credentials as a coach. G. Smith is the problem. Any QB that leads the league in INTs will always be the problem.

When a guy goes from mid tier qb to the worst in the league, that is absolutely an OC and coaching issue. Clearly seattle maxed Geno out and made the best of him while we made the worst of him.

In the game against the Chiefs Bech was targeted twice and caught both passes. Thornton was targeted three times and didn't record a single reception.

Chip may not be THE problem but he is A problem. A big one at that.
