It seems the only way he can fix the Raiders is to sell the team. The players, the coaches, the GM’s all change, but the losing continues. It’s like everyone that joins the organization gets worse at their job jobs. He’s the lone constant. The last stone unturned.

Right now just leave everything the same; we might win another game but thinking 3-14 record would get us a franchise QB….if that happened I would let Spytek stay as GM…but fire everyone one else and let Spytek hire a HC in the new year…..

Confounding to believe the same owners Davis and Brady (minority) have 3 trophies in WNBA since purchasing the Ace aught 2021.

Reminds of The Producers: “ How could this happened? I was so careful! I picked the wrong play, the wrong director, the wrong cast. Where did I go right?”

What Mark can do today, Oct 20, to start the long process of fixing the raiders:

Today he should call Pete into his office, and tell him things aren’t working out. HOWEVER, he is not fired. Instead, we want him to tank the rest of the season and then retire gracefully at the end of the year.

In exchange, he should tell Pete that he will pay him every dime of the contract allowed under NFL rules. Basically sell it as, “we did you a solid paying you a nice contract and giving you a shot. Do us a solid on the way out by tanking, and no one will even remember you flopped here outside of a trivia question”.

In doing so, we get two things: 1) we basically guarantee we don’t stumble into accidental wins later in the season, and ensures we get a top 3 type pick and 2) it’s slightly better for optics that we didn’t fire another head coach (I know it’s basically the same, but there’s something to allowing him to out “on his own terms”).

From there, I’d strongly consider all trades available. I’d trade Jakobi ASAP, at the highest price possible. And I would trade Maxx in a heartbeat if we can get back two 1sts, even to a contender where the firsts will likely be late. Maybe we get a 3rd for Jakobi and a 1st and 2nd for Maxx? Depends on his injury, I haven’t seen the latest as I type this. Sucks to realize that trading Maxx is much more practical than keeping him, but unfortunately that’s what we’ve “earned” as a franchise.

Finally, I’d scour the earth for the next McVey, Coen, etc and say “we have a draft loaded with picks, we’ll give you 5 years to realize your vision” and throw as much cash as it takes. I realize between this and Pete’s buyout, it’s a lot of cash, but mark has basically 7x the Raiders in the last decade and he eats at Hooters and PF Chang’s — he can afford it!

He can do only one thing: sell the team.

Until he is no longer the owner I have zero faith anything will change.

And to anyone out there? Why does he need to be the owner? Because he’s Al Davis’ son? So what.

He can't. If he could, their would be improvement by now. Their isn't. I don't know how but it got worse from last season.

I do not believe that he can.

This team has been putrid longer than it was amongst the elite. It's amazing that we still have a winning percentage above .500.

I really hope none of us witness the loss that puts us under .500. As it is now we are only at 26 losses north of that benchmark.

If Mark maintains control it will happen, you can count on it and that will be his legacy.

McVey’a kid is with the Rams. One such pairing id do is him with Kubiak. Mark has zero brains though

As I said yesterday, half the board, well maybe 76% is more qualified to run the team than Mark.

Agreed. I said the same thing this AM.

The way the NFL is structured it should be impossible to be this bad decade after decade yet here we are.

He's not going to sell the team. Just stay the hell out of the way. Sign the paychecks and stay home.
