Agreed. If you don’t have a superstar DT (A case could be made that they’re as rare as a superstar QB. Not as important, but possibly just as hard to find.), then you want a rotation of solid-to-good guys with fresh legs making life Hell for the interior lineman and collapsing that pocket.KillerRaider30 wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 6:52 pm Thomas Booker IV 6'3" 301lbs 25yo
2024 stats
About 2 games?
played 171 snaps
8 solo tackles
10 assist tackles
3 Tackles for Loss
4 Pressures
1 Sacks
1 Blocked Passes
We need a solid rotation and hes a nice addition.

IMO super star DTs are rarer than super star QBs. Sure there are some and Aaron Donald is the gold standard but he’s a freak/outlier.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 8:50 pm Agreed. After reading everything about this trade, it worries me a bit, but no a whole lot. Bennett was a solid player and still young and clearly, we are not stacked at DB. So, Carroll and staff must really like the young corners and free agents they have in camp. Also clear, is that we are thin all across the D-line, so this move may have been totally necessary. We shall see how it works out but for now, I am trusting the tried and true hand of Carroll.

FWIW wanted to get a list of DT's in last 5 years roughly with the most hurries to see who's making the difference. I feel hurries is a great way to monitor:Willmark wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 8:01 am IMO super star DTs are rarer than super star QBs. There seems to be some stats that can make Bennett look very good and promising and there are stats that don't and those must matter more to Pete and co. Man vs Zone to.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 8:52 am After reading everything about this trade, it worries me a bit, but no a whole lot. The Raiders secondary is BIG, but can’t cover a twin sized bed if they were a king sized sheet.

Bennett was terrible when he was out there, which wasn't very often. He has played a grand total of 24 snaps this season with half of them last week.
Over the season so far targeted 10 times, gave up six completions, had one pass interference and picked up a 24,000 fine for a hip drop tackle that didn't get called.

The Giants owned Tom Brady with a DLine rotation, Philly is known for having quality DTs since their first title. Booker is a piece, Butler is a piece, will other pieces surface this season, hopefully.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 8:50 pm Agreed.
