Here we go - new coach, new QB, new exciting RB, and a no-name defense. Not the toughest opening day match up possible as the Patriots also have issues. We are clearly in rebuild mode right? So if we lose I hope this board doesn’t go into melt down mode. Have fun with the new product Raiders fans

Raiders are currently ranked 6th in run defense. Amazing.

JPJ is an emotional player. I can guarantee he doesn't take kindly to being a guard. Last year he walked right up to Pierce and pretty much demanded to be a starting center. Pierce obliged. I don't think JPJ can do that with Carroll, so he's stuck at guard. No doubt he's not giving his all.

So let me see if I got this right - Meyers is dogging it on the field 8 rec 97 yards and made key plays. and now JPJ is not giving it his all because he's butt hurt about not playing center ????

Season opener on the road, early kickoff, wrong coast…. We always trip on these games. So satisfying to get a win like this. Geno is a legit good QB

JPJ looked bad at times yesterday saw him blow a few assignments badly i’m hoping it is just him settling back into playing OG otherwise he could be looking at bench time, Meredith on the other hand i thought might have been shaky but seemed to have solidified his spot as our C more

I also can’t believe nobody is talking about how drastically we likely had to change the offense when cooper retired. If he doesn’t retire we likely put 50 on the board. /s

Don't think we changed the offense at all, he was only around for a couple weeks and was still learning it, he might not have even been active for the game.

He was joking. Cooper coming and going had zero effect on the offense or the team.

I have read here about PFF good grades for out interior linemen last year ((Parham, James, JPJ, and I think Meredith). Well then, I think PFF’s rating system is bogus as they did not pass the eye test most of the season and statistically they did not do well especially running the ball. IMO, until proven otherwise, it’s a team weakness.if I remember right, the defense improved in the latter stages of the defense but the offense never did much.

Not sure if it was mentioned during the game but I liked seeing PG on the sideline with his guys. He seems like a high energy guy and the players love him.

I’m curious if it’ll affect his performance one way or the other. I imagine it’ll help him long term being closer to Pete during games.

Loved Pete getting in PG's face and riling him up too. Pierce shipped him up to the booth which clearly didn't work. Carroll is a coach's coach, putting not just the player but the staff in the best position to succeed.

I wasn't keying on him so it's not like I can definitively say he was very good..... but what I noticed about Meredith was very good. I thought he and Miller were our best linemen. I think JPJ will be a really good lineman, but he wasn't good yesterday - especially when you include the stupid penalty.
