CAMPBELL’S BLUNDERS

Will Campbell wasn’t a complete and total disaster, but he definitely didn’t look like the fourth overall pick.

Campbell gave up two sacks and was called for two false start penalties — the second of which forced the offense off the field and essentially ended the game late in the fourth quarter. The Patriots need more out of him — plain and simple.

Very true, but he did get 103 yards first. He wanted to go back in, but the trainers held him out.

Didn't the run game excel late last year when JPJ was at center? Make the switch Pete. I don't know that i buy that JPJ can't make the calls at the line. The fcking guy played center last year for us and the run game got better.

You've said this before, but it's just not true. In the eight games JPJ played guard the Raiders averaged 85.50 ypg (3.5 ypc) and in the nine games he played center, they averaged 73.33 ypg (3.59 ypc).

Just talked to #Raiders TE Brock Bowers and he says he’s fine. Took a little hit on the knee, came out to get checked out. No concerns moving forward.

Good to see nothing has changed with the fans here. This was a great win. Week one, traveling east, playing early and tough conditions. Not sure what everyone expected from week 1, but for the first game, I will take it. The only thing I didnt expect was the inability to run the ball and the Oline struggling as much as they did. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised by the D in the second half, and we are not last in the division standings.

I beg to differ. The criticisms of the team have exclusively been about the offensive line. And I think you would agree that the interior did not open many holes and the pass protection was spotty especially from Glaze. We had 56 yards rushing at 2.3 yards per rush. Yuk. But we all see the vast improvement in QB play, in-game adjustments by the coaches, the healthy return of Maxx and Koonce and the welcome addition of White and Adams. Yes good win.

Agree with the sentiment that JPJ was probably overrated coming into the season. People don’t seem to care much for parham and yet he graded significantly better then JPJ last year per pff. Meredith graded very well last year.

Because anyone with eyes can see JPJ was our second-best lineman last year.

Hell, Andre James graded well, people would use his grade to argue James' value to the line, yet anyone with eyes can see that James was the worst center in the NFL. He would constantly get blown back at the snap. He was the reason we could never convert 3rd/4th and short last season. Anyone remember the Steelers game? Yeah, he was trash. PFF claimed he was one of the better centers in the NFL, yet once we got rid of him, he's barely hanging on as a backup a year later.

That's why I don't put much stock in PFF, because they purposely will grade people for clicks. Like Tyree Wilson will have his worst game of the season, then PFF will give him the highest grade on the defense.

JPJ is an emotional player. I can guarantee he doesn't take kindly to being a guard. Last year he walked right up to Pierce and pretty much demanded to be a starting center. Pierce obliged. I don't think JPJ can do that with Carroll, so he's stuck at guard. No doubt he's not giving his all.
