Raiders@Seattle-1st Preseason Game -Thursday
I'll be there. Anyone else in the PNW going? Looking forward to watching Jeanty get a few carries in the first quarter.
Coach Pete is well liked up here, he should get a nice welcome from the Seahawks faithful.

Society has emboldened cowards because they know laws protect them. Remember the pussy who called out Donald Penn several years ago? We need to bring back good ole fashioned ass whippings (with slap on the wrist) when idiots ask for it.CWood24 wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 4:18 am Fans are cunts about players & it is completely fine but the minute a player gives it back to the fans people start whining
Imagine being nobody abusing a guy person, family etc who has made it to the top 1% of his chosen sport then crying about getting a little of that back
The likes of Eric Cantona, Tie Domi & Ron Artest deserve an award for giving fans a little bit of reality when they step way out of line

And it has nothing to do with what happens on the field. It has everything to do with not putting up with bullshit. It is really funny, since this discussion has begun, I have felt like the emo society has reared its head again. Don't flip off someone because that is really bad and it makes people sad.Corleone wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 4:24 am Society has emboldened cowards because they know laws protect them. I find the whole thing funny. Let's be Raider fans and celebrate the mystique, the outcasts, everyone against us, do what we want mentality. Until a team member does that. Then it's either "he hasn't been on the team long enough" or "the team has sucked for so long he shouldn't do that". Notice how no one's calling out Pete for trying to snatch the sign nor is Maxx getting much attention for doing the same thing. If you're gonna call one person out, call out the entirety of the participants

Society has become super soft. Guy I work with has coached college and kids hockey. He constantly bitches about how you have to coddle the kids these days because they'll break down and/or the parents get involved if you get too tough on them.Corleone wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 4:24 am Society has emboldened cowards because they know laws protect them. I really didn't notice anything until we hired a couple of early/mid 20 yr olds for the warehouse I work at. I'm the supervisor and Jesus f[raiders_icon]ck I have to wear kid gloves with them. They get sad or offended if you look at them wrong. Don't get me started on the work ethic and mentality towards work that they have

Most of the younguns these days display a strong sense of entitlement replacing the respect many of us grew up with.

It will need to be top 10 to get where we ultimately want to go though.KillerRaider30 wrote: Sat Aug 09, 2025 5:57 pm and im not worried about the oline. It'll sort itself out and doesn't need to be top 10.
This line looks like it has a change at being mid.

I am worried about our lines (especially our OL line). I know its early and only one preseason game. That being said, Seattle did not play their starters. Meanwhile, we ran starters on our OL in the 2nd half. I like giving guys real reps (especially with a new staff). However, I found little to nothing that I was encouraged with regarding our OL line. Maybe there was a reason for the dramatic changes as the staff is seeing what works best as a totality of the unit. I am sure its a work in progress.

Well, I for one think that the Oline needs Parham at guard and Johnson Powers at center. Obviously Miller at tackle and I would keep Glaze at the other, but Tasi looked good at the other guard position so should be in consideration over Cappa but Tasi needs more reps before I would make that call.RI RAIDER wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 8:46 am I am worried about our lines (especially our OL line). But everyone needs to be better at run blocking.
Dline other than Maxx is a mess. Our LBs and DBs better be on their toes this year.

Piggybacking off of your oline comment, it could very well be they want to see if the expirement with JPJ/Merideth works before switching him back to center as it should be fairly seamless for JPJAttyla wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 10:12 am Well, I for one think that the Oline needs Parham at guard and Johnson Powers at center. Both lines looked bad but I'm firmly in wait and see mode.
New coach, new O coordinator. Pete is mixing and matching players across the lines. we'll get a better idea when he determines the best group. They might not end up being world beaters but it has to be better than what we saw in this game.
Has Pete made changes to the D or are we still pretty much running Graham's D?

Coach Carroll said the starters will play more in Preseason Week 2.

Preseason is the right time to find out what works. I am all about testing to get the right mixHellbound wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 10:57 am Piggybacking off of your oline comment, it could very well be they want to see if the expirement with JPJ/Merideth works before switching him back to center as it should be fairly seamless for JPJ
