From that perspective I think he hit on 25 moments that changed how we view the game itself 365 days a year. And Colin's actions for good or bad did do that as did the tuck rule and the Rice video etc.

It did not include the rookie cap, but that is a good one and worthy of the list.

If the over sensitive community didn't over react to a few guys taking a knee it would have blown over in a few weeks and been forgotten. They gave them the attention they wanted and made it a national discussion. They made something out of nothing. It's like people need something to be angry about and throw gas on a fire

The games I watch now are nothing compared to the games back then. How times have changed...

Athletically the game is better. Some of the rules that are designed to protect the players diminished the game and the rules that handcuff the defenses also diminished the game. The offenses are now designed around the passing game which for the casual fan makes it better but for the old guard the lack of a rush attack has made it worse.

But the article is really not talking about the quality of the games themselves but rather moments in time that altered our view of the game. Deflate Gate for better or worse was one such moment. Vick going to prison for dog fighting was a big deal in the moment. These are things outside of the game itself that changed our view of the game, maybe not permanently but in the moment they were big talking points among the fans.

It is part of a series looking at 25 {insert topic} he is doing. I think the 25 he named are pretty good. As noted, he missed the rookie cap which I think is a huge deal. But he was not going to get to 25 easily. I might have added Antonio Pierce's meltdown but I am a Raiders fan so it stood out to me. Eli to Tyree was really not one I think is that stand out but in the moment it solidified Manning's dominance of Brady when it counted most
