He's a beast and the Raiders are going to have a great TE duo for years to come!

Possible the Raiders tipping their hand with how the Offense will go. We know AP wants to pound it.

Pair up with a lot of two TE sets with Mayer on the other side and the WRs we have?

This could be an Offense that sneaks up on a lot of people.

Safe to say he was not a guy I really considered. I assumed he would be picked before the Raiders and the focus has been mainly on QB, OL, and CB. It’s not a team need. However, he’s possibly top five talent and by definition best player available. I like that they aren’t getting cute or picking for need. This is a very solid pick and they might be able to do some damage with the two tight ends they now have.

Great sign in the sense that AOC could (should) be the starter.

Other than that, the pick doesn't actually help the team in any way. Xavier Worthy would have been a better selection.

BPA should be DT, CB, and OT the rest of the way.

When I first heard his name called I thought it was a stupid pick. Then I noticed that Walterfootball had him rated as a top 16 player. Fine!!! But why draft a tight end when we already have one in Michael Mayer? Apparently they are using the best player available philosophy which is fine. But how does he fit in? :astonished:

No one expected Bowers because he was easily a top 10, possibly even a top 5 talent.

Let’s consider it positively (tough I know with the mobile QB crowd melting down):

WR Adams
WR2 Meyers
TE1 Bowers
TE2 Mayer
RB Zeus

On paper this means we’re not in as bad of a position on Offense as people might believe.

Minshew is not a horrible QB and stranger things with us and QBs. I’m of the mindset we need to invest in QB nearly every draft and this isn’t over so maybe Rattler? If we end up with AOC4, Minshew and Rattler, there is potential there.

I also suspect the move up to get a QB was either way too high of a asking price or no one wanted to move.

Raiders Reddit losing it lol. Fans want BPA until it happens. He’s gonna be a pro bowler in a couple years.

Dude is a monster. This feels like the type of pick that we normally pass on, only for the next team to snag and end up burning us for 10 years. (Megatron, Rodgers, etc...)
